Steins;Gate 0 Site Unveiled
The website for the latest upcoming sequel, Steins;Gate 0, commenced a 4-day countdown with a Divergence Meter in their site at February 1st. Everyone in the community speculated that they'd be releasing a new trailer, visual, cast, pachinko, etc. for the sequel.
Turns out that the website was updated with a new key visual, character designs, and a special stage event upcoming at AnimeJapan 2018.
Steins;Gate is one of the highly-rated shows during our time, and definitely worth a watch if you are interested in time-traveling or maybe if you know about John Titor. It doesn't just tack on the themes that I mentioned, but it also goes further than that which makes it better.
If you boot up the website, the first thing you'll be able to see is the very latest trailer— whereas Kurisu Makise (Amadeus) narrating the main plot line of Zero. If you aren't knowledgeable regarding Zero, this is essentially another timeline where Okabe Rintarou, the main character, was not able to save her. This timeline diverges from the main show's Episode 23, thus why there's a second version of that specific episode— 23 ß Divergence.
In a nutshell, Zero is basically the story on how Okabe Rintarou received the mysterious D-Mail from his future self. It touches on the whole story about what happened during the Beta Attractor Field, where World War Three happens.
I, one of the VN readers, highly suggest you watch this after you've completed Steins;Gate. It's something like a midquel, but you can consider this as a sequel if you'd like.
Steins;Gate 0 made us wait for about a year now and it is finally airing on April 2018 (No need to complain about getting it delayed because Re:Zero is a good show, in my opinion!).
Not much we could say about the staff since it's not really the full list, but I think we should worry about the director of this series.
Kawamura Kenichi, the director for Zero, usually works in the industry as doing storyboards or directing an episode. However, this is their third time directing and his portfolio isn't that really good. If you take a look at it, he directed SoniAni, an idol anime, and the infamous Watari Wataru's (OreGairu author) trainwreck, Qualidea Code.
Fans of the franchise are worried that he might screw up Zero in some way, but Chiyomaru Shikura (the creator) stated that the anime turns out to be more interesting than the game. For me, it's quite disappointing that they're going for a single route, but it can't be helped since this is a Visual Novel adaptation. I wonder how not-gloomy-Okabe would turn out, but I am still excited regardless of that!
Aside from that, there are definitely new characters that didn't show up from the main show. I promise you that you'll like one of them, especially this certain loli that would probably be claimed as a waifu instantly...
